I'm Joshua.

I founded Pathwoven on a simple idea: tools should serve people, not the other way around. The best engineering work extends what humans can do without turning them into appendages of their own systems. AI fits that description when it's done right. So does a clean CI/CD pipeline, a thoughtful PR workflow, or codebase context written so a senior engineer can think clearly about hard problems instead of drowning in noise.

I spend a lot of time thinking about how AI coding agents change the daily reality of building software. The interesting work isn't the tools themselves — it's the question of how to weave them into systems people can actually live and work inside, especially when the codebase has history, the team has compliance obligations, and the legacy is real.

When I'm not heads-down on a codebase, I'm with my wife Amanda and our kids — usually outdoors, often watching birds, occasionally plotting our next adventure.
